YouTube shows thumbnails at 1280 × 720 but recompresses them, and a sharper source survives that better; banners are displayed at 2560 pixels wide on desktop; print-on-demand wants 4,500 pixels on the long edge. Image Upscaler gets any render to those sizes. Pick a target — 4, 8, 16 or 32 megapixels — and the tool re-renders the image larger with more detail rather than simply stretching it. Transparent PNGs keep their alpha channel.
Pricing scales with the size: 3 credits for 4 MP, 5 for 8 MP, 10 for 16 MP, 20 for 32 MP. As a rule, 8 MP (about 3840 × 2160 for a 16:9 image) is the 4K target for thumbnails and end screens; 16 MP covers banners and Discord art; 32 MP is for merch, posters and anything printed. The Upscale button under every result opens the same choice, so you rarely need to open the tool directly.
Upscale is the last step, not the first. Design at Standard, iterate, choose, re-run at Pro or Max if the render will be seen large, and then upscale the final. Upscaling a Standard render will not add detail that the render never had — it sharpens what is there — so the quality tier still matters. For a completely different size rather than a bigger one, use Reframe first and upscale the reframed result.

Questions
Which size is 4K?
8 MP. A 16:9 image at 8 MP is about 3840 × 2160, which is 4K UHD.
Does it keep transparency?
Yes. Emotes, logos, merch graphics and cutouts stay transparent PNGs after upscaling.
Will upscaling fix a blurry render?
It sharpens and adds detail, but it cannot invent what a low-quality render lacks. Re-run the design at Pro or Max first, then upscale.
What do the sizes cost?
4 MP is 3 credits, 8 MP is 5, 16 MP is 10 and 32 MP is 20 — the same whether you open the tool or use the Upscale button under a result.
Is Image Upscaler free to try?
New accounts get 4 free credits — one Standard run of Image Upscaler. After that, plans start at $15 for 1,000 credits and packs from $4.99.
